Ross Updates - 11/23/10

E-mail Print

  • Ross votes to approve the "high-end" House Of Vino deli with 7-slot machines and liquor at Durango and Grand Teton. If you pass by the store or even go in you can see it does not have a "deli".  All of the City Council Members voted for this EXCEPT Starvos Anthony. ( again the only elected who cares about our neighborhoods)  Well, seems the owner can't afford a deli yet (see his deli coming soon banner) Really? I'd love to hear from any of you who think this store is high-end. Please post your comments on this site.
  • On April 21 City Council (except Stravos Anthony, apparently the ONLY City Councilmember who cares about our quality of life!!) approved a Major Modification to the Town Center Development Standards from SX-TC, which is low intensity and no,liquor or gaming TO GC-TC which is general commercial, much more intense and allows uses we don't want near our NEIGHBORHOODS, LIBRARY AND YMCA!!!!!  Trust when we ell this will open the flood gates to more intense commercial in the Town Center. Only 109 homes were notified. And even though Ross has an office at the YMCA, he never bothered to ask the hundreds of parents you take their kids there to see if they are okay with a tavern so close to the YMCA. Apparently Ross has been working on this for two-years. Really? Odd for a City Councilman to work so hard for something so wrong! So if you don't think liquor and gaming do not belong in this "family corridor" , don't visit Miss Dolly's.
  • Miss Molly's is open and it is not compatible with this shopping center!
  • Ross is running for Mayor. Really?  Stay tuned as to why Steve Ross should not be the Mayor of Las Vegas
